This wall painting was conceived very shortly before the installation of Splendor Geometrik and can not only be connected to the room division elements in that show, but also to the use of colored walls in every show since Einer zu viel and more specifically to the wall painting in Crystal palace and the dinosaurs. Since I knew the gallery space at Els Hanappe Underground would be very small, and because Gary kept asking me to do something I wouldn't normally do, I wanted to propose and element what was at once an autonomous artwork and a decorative element, serving rather than contradicting the idea of a group show.
