The idea of Emergency Room, proposed by Thierry Geoffroy / Colonel, was that each participant should produce some piece of art about or connected to media, and bring it on the same day until 13.00 into the gallery space. I decided to ask people on the street if they had any news for me, personal or news they head read or heard about.
Die Neuigkeit des Tages was shot on three days in October 2006 in three different quarters of Berlin: rich Zehlendorf in West-Berlin, poor and multicultural Wedding and in Mauerpark, where young families spend their free afternoons.
The films were originally burned on Dvd without any editing and brought directly to the gallery, but we later reworked them and made them into one film of ca. 30 min.
